- The
U10 program becomes more competitive and depending on the
players we have to choose from, the teams may be in different
divisions. Evaluations to determine what level the players
are at will take place in late March/early April. Teams
will play other teams from surrounding communities.
- Check
"about page" for age
eligibility.
- Teams
will be separated into boys and girls.
- Play
is 7 a side, including the goalkeeper.
- Team
size will be 12 to 14 players depending on the number of
registrants.
- Teams
will practice generally once a week and play once a week.
However, this is dependent on the schedule given to us.
The days last year were: Mon/Wed for girls and Tues/Thurs
for boys, but there is NO GUARANTEE THE DAYS WILL REMAIN
THE SAME FOR THIS YEAR.. Practices and games are within
our area.
- At
the U10 level, Calglen offers optional skill sessions and
goalkeeper sessions to enhance the technical development
of our players. Trainers for these are members of the Mount
Royal College Cougars Soccer Team and the U of C Dinos Soccer
Team. These sessions are included in the registration fees
which are among the lowest in the city.
- Practices
are an hour to an hour and a half long. Games are an hour
long, 2 - 30 minute halves.
- Jerseys
are provided but must be returned at the end of the season.
Shin guards, black shorts and black socks must be worn for
games – these are the responsibility of the player.
- There
MAY be a tournament offered during the season.
- Team
coaches are offered training and certification courses on
an ongoing basis at no cost to the participants.
- Children Require there own soccer ball (Size 4).
