U10 Outdoor

  1. The U10 program becomes more competitive and depending on the players we have to choose from, the teams may be in different divisions. Evaluations to determine what level the players are at will take place in late March/early April. Teams will play other teams from surrounding communities.
  2. Check "about page" for age eligibility.
  3. Teams will be separated into boys and girls.
  4. Play is 7 a side, including the goalkeeper.
  5. Team size will be 12 to 14 players depending on the number of registrants.
  6. Teams will practice generally once a week and play once a week. However, this is dependent on the schedule given to us. The days last year were: Mon/Wed for girls and Tues/Thurs for boys, but there is NO GUARANTEE THE DAYS WILL REMAIN THE SAME FOR THIS YEAR.. Practices and games are within our area.
  7. At the U10 level, Calglen offers optional skill sessions and goalkeeper sessions to enhance the technical development of our players. Trainers for these are members of the Mount Royal College Cougars Soccer Team and the U of C Dinos Soccer Team. These sessions are included in the registration fees which are among the lowest in the city.
  8. Practices are an hour to an hour and a half long. Games are an hour long, 2 - 30 minute halves.
  9. Jerseys are provided but must be returned at the end of the season. Shin guards, black shorts and black socks must be worn for games – these are the responsibility of the player.
  10. There MAY be a tournament offered during the season.
  11. Team coaches are offered training and certification courses on an ongoing basis at no cost to the participants.
  12. Children Require there own soccer ball (Size 4).
