Outdoor Games & Practices for 2010
U6
Games and Practice will
be on Saturdays 10:00 to 11:30 am and will be held at:
- Alternative
High School: 5003 20th Street
S.W. Map
(5 Different Fields)
The
season will run from April 24 - June 19
with no regular games/practices (Victoria Day, May 22, 2010)
or (CMSA Minifest Tournament, June 5th, 2010).
2010 U6 Outdoor Schedule
Each
game and practice will be as follows:
Fields:
(Alternative
High Field Layout)
• 20 x 30
yards (play crosswise across a U10 field)
• goal: 6 ft wide
Rules
• U6: 3v3 including sweeper keeper (encourage keeper
skills)
• Coaches referee the game
• Line change every 3 minutes
• Sweeper keeper can only use hands in goal area
• Sweeper keeper cannot drop kick the ball
• Free kick to opposing team for pushing, tripping,
handing; goal cannot be scored on a free kick
• If ball goes out, restart with throw in, goal kick,
or corner kick as usual
• In U6, encourage parents on the sideline to keep ball
in play
• No off sides
Cancellation
of Games/Practices will occur for heavy rain, thunderstorms
or snow resulting in unsafe conditions. U6/U8 Coordinator
will:
• Make an assessment not later than 35 minutes before
start time,
• Send email to all players and coaches not later than
30 minutes prior to start time.
• During game/practice, if weather threatening - especially
lightening (coach's discretion).
• Make-up dates only considered after 3 complete cancellations
(if field available; coordinator's discretion).

Minifest Tournament
• Fun weekend tournament – 2 games each day
