If
this is your child's first experience with CalGlen evaluations,
please note the following:
-
CalGlen
soccer is about fun, first and foremost; competition
comes second.
-
We
will make every effort to place all children on a
team. This being said we have decided to cap U12 at
15 players per team, U14 to U16 teams at 17 players
per team, and U10 at 15 players. We will make every
effort to form second and third teams, but placing
priority will be given to children that register and
pay first. U8 cap is 90 players (9 teams of 10 players),
U6 cap is 80 players (10 teams of 8 players).
-
Teams
will be selected based on players' ability and competitiveness,
and then placed in divisions of similar competitive
levels.
-
Players
may choose to play with a friend, at the level of
the less competitive player. This must be done when
registering. Evaluations are not an examination as
much as an opportunity to enjoy some soccer!
-
Players
should bring outdoor soccer shoes, shin pads and
a water bottle to every game, evaluation and practice.
Outdoor soccer shoes, black shorts and black soccer
socks are required for U12 and U14.
-
U10,
U12, U14 and U16 players are required to provide their
own balls for practice, skills and evaluation sessions.
Ball sizes by age group: U6 & U8 - size 3, U10 &
12 - size 4, U14 & U16 - size 5.
-
All
players and parents will be contacted in April via email
by the team manager or coach to inform the players of
which team they are on and the schedule for outdoor
2009. Schedules are set by CalGlen for U6 & U8;
Southwest Calgary league for U10, and U12, U14, &
U16 in the CMSA
