About
Calglen Soccer Club
Welcome to the Cal-Glen Soccer Club. Cal-Glen runs a community based soccer
program for girls and boys from Under 6 (U6) to Under 16
(U16) age levels.
For indoor, U6 through U16 teams play in the
Calgary Minor Soccer Association League.
For outdoor, U6 and U8 teams play in the Cal-Glen house
league, U10 teams play in the Calgary
Southwest Soccer League and our U12, U14 and U16 teams play
in the Calgary
Minor Soccer Association League.
On top of regular weekly practices Calglen offers weekly
skills sessions for all U10 to U16 teams, plus we offer
goal keepertraining sessions. This is all included in our
fees.
Here is some basic information regarding our organization
and philosophy:
-
Cal-Glen soccer is about fun, first
and foremost; competition comes second.
-
We attempt to place all children a
team. That said, registration caps are placed on many
age levels due to facility and coaching constraints.
-
Players may choose to play with a
friend, at the level of the less competitive player, provided
that these arrangements are made upon registration.
-
Teams are selected based on players'
ability and competitiveness, and then placed in divisions
of similar competitive levels. Players in the U10, U12
and U14 age groups attend up to two pre-season evaluation
sessions for this purpose (not to mention having a bit
of pre-season fun!).
-
Cal-Glen provides facilities and the
basic equipment, including team jerseys, for the season.
Players are required to bring appropriate soccer shoes,
shin pads, socks, shorts, water bottle and a ball (U10,
U12 and U14 only) to each team event.
-
A volunteer commitment is required
by each registered family in order to help with the club's
organizational or fund raising needs.
Cal-Glen, being a volunteer based organization, is always
looking for more help to provide the best soccer experiences
for our kids. If you can help with one time tasks or on
an extended basis, please contact us and we'll be sure
to get you involved.
